WHITE-NECKED HERON - Kleinton, Qld.
For days I had witnessed this patient White-necked Heron stalking puddles that remained in a local dam, drying up in the drought. Every day, he was there patiently perusing the puddles in search for what remained in the mud. I counted him there for over 7 days and took these photos on about day 5. The dam has now completely dried up and the heron has moved on.
